Great character at the end, but once again it was a lack of clinical play
Johnny Sexton. Incredible. pic.twitter.com/26KqrNTxnl— Ramsey Cardy (@ramseycardy) February 3, 2018
Nigel Owens was awful. Nearly as bad as Ireland’s ability to finish a match.
France, where the treatment for a knee sprain is a lobotomy #FRAvIRE #sixnations2018 #sixnations #6Nations2018 pic.twitter.com/ZORU34RQJ8— Francis Scott (@FrancoScott) February 4, 2018
I switched off after the French try, what happened?
It's a sign of how far we have come as a nation that nobody has mentioned Thierry Henri tonight. We won it fair and square! #FRAvIRE— Andrew Byrne (@andbyrne1) February 3, 2018
Poor enough performance. Should have put that team away earlier and sloppiness in their 22 was nearly punished. BUT 40+ phases and a 42M drop goal, what a finish
Jonny Sexton is quite simply the greatest out-half @IrishRugby have ever produced. One of the toughest drop goals I've ever witnessed to claim victory from the jaws of defeat. 42 metres out at the death on a wet pitch. Magic! #FRAvIRE #NatWest6Nations #Jonny #Sexton pic.twitter.com/b1kBUBnqu1— Andy Stevenson (@andyste123) February 3, 2018
Phenomenal performance COYBIG ☘️🥂🍾🍸

I've aged about 20 years watching that last 20 minutes.

Surprising performance by the French who clearly did their homework on ireland.
We should have done a bit better but France is no easy place to get a win..we'll take it.
Feels like three opportunities to opt for pack to go route one for a try with pick and go were left out there tonight. Some encouraging stuff in that second half for @IrishRugby to build on. #COYGIG #FRAvIRE— Brian O'Connell (@tweetbrian) February 3, 2018
James Ryan stole Paul O’Connell’s pajamas. Fact 😜
— Michael Creamer (@dicreamio) February 3, 2018
Shite match. We totally underestimated the French. But Johnny saved the day.
One down......4 to go!!

Went through the emotions in the last quarter. Sexton is a superb player.
Next time Ireland play in Paris the commentators can say "France have only beaten Ireland here once in the last 10 years". #FRAvIRE— Cian McCarthy (@cianfmccarthy) February 3, 2018
With all the flack he gets about injuries and not finishing matches. Jonny was still there fully fit at 84 mins and in position to deliver
Sexton had cramp 10 minutes earlier and was hobbling at one stage of the 40 plus drive leading up to his shot. To kick from that distance in all of the circumstances shows incredible self belief. #fravire— Matt Cooper (@cooper_m) February 3, 2018
We're always rusty in the 1st match and the French did their homework on us. Onwards and upwards...
A 42-metre drop goal after 40 phases of carrying. Legendary stuff. What a moment #FRAvIRE— Three Red Kings (@threeredkings) February 3, 2018
I’d let Johnny Sexton father my children.
Sexton will rightly take the plaudits but those last two carries by Henderson then Stander after 82 minutes on the pitch were just awesome. Gave us the yards needed to allow JS the space. #FRAvIRE— Ian Frizzell (@rava_ian) February 3, 2018
Below our normal standards. Great to get the win but need to improve especially in attack. Game plan needs tweaking. James Ryan had a good game and showed he is ready for this level.
Petition to get Johnny Sexton's right foot cast in gold #FRAvIRE— JOE.ie (@JOEdotie) February 3, 2018
Henshaw is a 12 and him and Aki will not work at international level. We missed Heaslip or Conan.
James Ryan is the best secondrow we have.

Ireland need to be far more clinical going forward, especially if I'm to avoid some sort of coronary incident! Someone suggested Ryan had stolen O'Connells pyjamas, he's definitely stolen Devin Toner's jersey. The lads should be glad of the win and the commitment and drive they needed to grind it out was outstanding to watch, reminiscent of the enthusiasm to end the slam and good to see in a different context
Oh Johnny. You beauty! Talk about one kick changing a storyline!— Gerry Thornley (@gerrythornley) February 3, 2018
I'd rather win ugly than lose pretty. What a steal. 💚🏉💚🏉
Ireland losing, well into added time, had my "Bien joué" prepared and ready for the French lads beside me.Then Sexton hit that ball sweet and true. And I said it anyway. And the French lads took it like fucking champs.Fair play.👌

Not a great performance but great grit from our boys. 40 phases and a 45m drop goal are wonderful for the neutral but Jaysus it’s a good job my mouth was shut because my heart almost jumped out of my mouth. Conditions were rubbish but I thought we were too slow at the breakdown probably caused by French skulduggery and the ref didn’t police it properly. I won’t talk about the Knee Injury Assessments or I’ll be here till next week. Not sure about our tactics as we were too narrow and not clinical enough otherwise that game might’ve been ours earlier. Still, I never bought the France in disarray tripe so to win in France is nothing short of bloody awesome #COYBIG
I fucking love you Johnny Sexton— Demented Mole (@dementedmole) February 3, 2018
Ireland looked ponderous, the French well set up to deal with a slightly one dimensional team. We looked predictable and played like it too. Same exit strategies and static runners from slow ball. We won because of a sporting Hail Mary shot. A lot to turn around
Not to exaggerate but that was from at least 4000 meters out#FRAvIRE #TeamOfUs #ShoulderToShoulder #COYBIG #6Nations #6Nations2018 #sixnations2018 #SixNations— Ciarán Duffy (@TheVoiceDepth) February 3, 2018
Johnny Sexton is an absolute legend. Great match

Whoever the match doctor is in Paris, I’m glad they don’t work at my local surgery. Ridiculous.— Nick Mullins (@andNickMullins) February 3, 2018
A win in Paris is the best tonic we could start of with. Every player played 110% ----- HAPPY MEN OUT !!
It takes a special human to miss a sitter then hit an outrageous drop goal in the 82min. Well done a @JohnnySexton #stillboring— James Lowe (@jameslowenz) February 3, 2018
Banal rugby and lucky win. Great composure, rucking, hands and brilliant drop goal last 5. Aki does not know how to pass.
Just because we won with an INCREDIBLE 42 METER drop goal that HIA decision shouldn’t get swept under the carpet. It was nothing short of a disgrace!!!— Brian O'Driscoll (@BrianODriscoll) February 3, 2018
Just your standard 40 phase, 42 metre drop goal, training ground move #FRAvIRE
What missed peno? All is forgiven Johnny. Try saying we didn't deserve that gwan I dare ya. Me nerves! #FRAvIRE— Harpin' On Rugby 🏉 (@HarpinOnRugby) February 3, 2018
