ITA 33-22 ROM (8-0-review)

Italian rugby might be used to the lower rungs of the ladder be it Six Nations or Pro12 but their mere involvement in those competitions proved the difference in what was effectively a play-off for automatic RWC2019 qualification. The Oaks’ pack was as strong as ever but that extra bit of class shown by the likes of Campagnaro, Allan and Zanni won through. Three late Romanian tries did them much credit but Brunel’s Italian tenure concluded with a bonus-point win.
